Volusia hotels report mixed final results from Turkey Run vacation weekend

Even with the existence of the once-a-year Turkey Run vintage-vehicle present at Daytona Intercontinental Speedway and a prolonged weekend for relatives getaways, many Volusia County hoteliers claimed occupancy and prices down substantially in contrast with last year’s Thanksgiving holiday getaway.

Compared final year’s vacation weekend, occupancy was down 20% and revenue was down 46% at the 91-home Sunlight Viking Lodge in Daytona Seashore Shores, reported longtime proprietor Gary Brown.
