Forest guards, farmers and industrial motorists in Akure have staged a protest on Thursday in guidance of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu’s purchase for Fulani herdsmen to vacate the state’s forest reserves in seven times.
The protesting group blocked the streets and carried placards telling their governor not to rescind his directive.
Speaking at the protest, chairman of the National Union of Road Transportation Workers, Comrade Jacob Adejo, explained professional drivers were no extended protected in the point out.
It will be recalled that on Tuesday, there was a statement from the Federal Governing administration expressing that the governor is not envisioned to oust Fulani herders from Ondo forests or he will go in opposition to the structure of the state.
There have been reactions from various quarters which includes the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, which has questioned South-West governors to the Ondo Condition governor, expressing that President Muhammadu Buhari’s routine “represents only Fulani passions from individuals of Yoruba, Igbo, Junkun, Ijaw and other tribes in Nigeria.”
